FAQ

Every reason you'd hesitate, answered plainly.

Organized by the actual worry, not by feature. If your question isn't here, ask it on WhatsApp — a person answers.

"What does this really cost me?"

The fee, restated without softening.

What does Siima cost?
There is no monthly subscription, setup fee, or per-seat charge. Siima earns 1.9% of a booking when it's confirmed (minimum $2 per booking), invoiced once a month. The worked examples show it on real bookings, to the shilling.
Can I pass the fee to my guests?
Yes — price it into the quote and the guest carries it. It's your pricing decision, per market. How that works in costing.
What if a booking cancels or refunds?
Cancelled before it's invoiced: the fee is voided — you don't pay for trips that didn't happen. Once invoiced, it stands.
How is the fee collected?
Never deducted from your money in flight. Fees accrue as bookings confirm; once a month you get one invoice in USD, due in 6 days, settled online or by bank transfer.

"Will it work for MY business?"

The catalogue you run is probably a mix. That's the point.

I only run day trips.
Core case, not an afterthought: scheduled slots with per-slot capacity, resident/international/child rates, QR check-in from any phone. You'll use less of the itinerary builder and more of the calendar.
I only do custom multi-day safaris.
Siima's deepest workflow: build the itinerary once, cost it per person, share the proposal by link, track deposit and balance, coordinate the partners delivering each leg.
I run fixed-date group departures.
Group departures are their own experience type: a fixed date that fills seat by seat, with capacity, a manifest, and per-seat pricing. Not a day trip forced to pretend.
I deliver a lot of trips through partners.
So does most of this market — supplier coordination is a first-class feature: who's delivering what, for which trip, at what cost. See how operations handles partners.

"My guests won't figure this out."

They don't have to figure anything out.

Do guests need to create accounts?
Never. Guests get links — a proposal to review, a receipt, a voucher with a QR code. No sign-ups, no passwords, no app.
How do guests pay?
The honest current answer: exactly how they pay you today — your bank details, mobile money, cash, or your own PesaPal page for card and mobile-money payments online. Whatever arrives, you record it against the booking so the balance stays current.
What do guests actually see?
Clean, mobile-first pages carrying your business name: the proposal, the booking summary, the voucher. They see your company — Siima stays in the plumbing.

"What if I want to leave?"

The exit is part of the product.

Can I export my data?
Any time, to Excel — catalogue, bookings, guest details, payment records. No request forms, no waiting.
Whose data is it?
Yours. Your catalogue, your bookings, your guests. Siima processes it to run your operations — it doesn't own it, sell it, or market to your guests. The privacy page says this in writing.
What happens if I stop using Siima?
Export everything, and go. There's no contract period and no cancellation fee — the model only works if staying is worth it every month.

"Will this still exist next year?"

Fair question for any software. Facts, not reassurance:

Who builds Siima?
Fourlanes, a software product studio in Kampala, founded by Edwin P. Magezi. Independent — no outside investors. The about page has the full picture and real contact details.
How does it make money?
The 1.9% it earns when operators get paid. No investor runway to burn through, no pivot risk — Siima survives by being useful to operators, or not at all.

"I don't have time to migrate."

Setup is done with you, not dumped on you.

What does onboarding look like?
It starts on the demo call: we set up one of your real tours with you, live, so you leave the call with the beginning of a working catalogue — not a to-do list. From there we help you load the rest and get your team in.
How long until my first booking is in the system?
Your first tour exists before the demo call ends. Most operators record their next real inquiry in Siima the same week.
Do I have to stop using my spreadsheet?
No. Run them in parallel as long as you like — Siima earns nothing until bookings are confirmed in it, so there's no pressure to switch faster than you trust it.
